Sangeet Bharati

Sangeet Bharati has been in existence since 2003. The mission of Sangeet Bharati is to inspire, nurture and develop the Indian performing and visual arts (I.N.D.I.A.) in the local Sacramento community. Sangeet Bharati places emphasis on cross-cultural outreach to all community members both of Indian and non-Indian descent.

Specific Objectives and Purposes

The specific objectives and purposes of Sangeet Bharati are:

• Promote Hindustani classical music, light classical music, dances, visual arts and literary arts of India.
• Organize Indian music and dance programs in the Greater Sacramento area.
• Promote local Indian music artists, dance artists, visual and literary artists.
• Provide educational workshop sessions and lecture cum demonstrations of Indian classical music, literary arts, visual arts, languages of India and culture of India in Sacramento.
• Provide educational resources and a library of Indian books and videos of Indian culture in the greater Sacramento region.
